About Dr. Kuszak

I am Dr. Amber Kuszak, Licensed Clinical Psychologist and founder of Beacon of Hope Psychological Services. I offer mental health therapy to adults who are ready to rediscover their inner strength and potential for positive and long-lasting change. Thank you for considering Beacon of Hope as you prepare to embark on this undeniably valuable journey of healing.

Selecting someone to experience this journey alongside you can be difficult and overwhelming. Be comforted in knowing that my goal is to provide a healing experience and a welcoming, non-judgmental space to strategize and navigate the complexities of yesterday and today so you can continue with your tomorrow. Together, we can witness your struggle transform into a narrative of resilience, self-efficacy, and inspiration.

You’ll find during my work with you that I value getting to know you and your unique story. I find meaning in building a therapeutic relationship that’s rooted in genuine interest and empathy. Your healing and growth depend on feeling safe and understood in the therapy space. During our sessions, you have the freedom to explore yourself, your struggles, and your aspirations. While I offer structure when needed, you set the pace of therapy and determine the goals you want to achieve. I bring my knowledge and skill to help you through that process. What do YOU hope to gain on this journey?

During our first two to three sessions, I’ll spend time getting to know you and learning more about the struggles you’ve encountered, and perhaps continue to encounter. My ability to connect with and care about others fosters the establishment of a safe therapeutic environment where we can address what is interfering with moving toward living the life you want. I’ll incorporate fitting therapeutic interventions early on so you can begin to experience some relief from those struggles and the distress they caused.

I view the therapy process as a collaborative endeavor. Your role as client is to bring your troubles and challenges. My role as therapist is to provide a safe place, offer support and compassion, and apply clinical skill. Together we discover new direction for your life.
